Why choose a REALTOR®?
A licensed REALTOR® abides by a strict code of ethics and keeps up to date on important issues regarding property such as changes in financing options and property valuation. In addition, REALTORS® offer a number of services and have a knowledge base that give you an advantage, whether you are a buyer or seller of property. If you feel that the code of ethics has been violated, please read the instructions for filing a complaint and then submit a complaint form.
What is the difference between a REALTOR® and a real estate agent?
A REALTOR® is a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association OF REALTORS® and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics. Only REALTORS® may participate in the regional multiple listing service, and have access to the lockboxes that protect properties for sale. Additionally, the REALTOR® network provides the consumer and industry with a complaint and dispute resolution process that is often quicker and more effective than that of the Department of Commerce.
